Today René and I have visited the Belgian town of Doel. Doel is threatened with complete demolition due to the future enlargement of the harbour of Antwerp. This has seen many people having to sell their homes to the development corporation of that enlargement.
Because of the demolition, many houses are abandoned, many have cool street art on them, to most of them both apply. And this gives Doel such a special atmosphere which made it attractive to visit. And I must say it was worth a visit!
Doel is literally under the smoke of nuclear power station Doel. Quite impressive to be so close to it:
If you want to see all the photos I made today in and around Doel, you go here. Enjoy!
